NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase.hain 49kDa () is the third largestsubunit of complex I and is a component of the iron-sulphur (IP) fragment of theenzyme. The respiratory-chain NADH dehydrogenase (also known as complex I orNADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase) is an oligomeric enzymatic complex located in theinner mitochondrial membrane and which also seems to exist in the chloroplast andin cyanobacteria (as a NADH-plastoquinone oxidoreductase). NADH-ubiquinoneoxidoreductase.9Kd chain is one of the 25 to 30 polypeptide subunits of thisbioenergetic enzyme complex.A number of bacterial enzymes also belong to this family. They include;NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase.ubunit D (gene nuoD).ormate hydrogenlyase.ubunit 5 (gene hycE) and hydrogenase-4.ubunit G (gene hyfG) all from Escherichia coli andsubunit NQO4 of NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase from Paracoccus denitrificans.
